Welcome to my private homepage. This brief overview should be considered as an opportunity to get in contact.

My motivation for the scientific projects is based on the opportunity to combine professional experience as a physician with skills in epidemiology.

Based on cooperation with medical registries revealed to Gynecology and Obstetrics, epidemiological issues had been already integrated in the professional work. Engagement in perinatal, oncological and reproductive data-collections produced interest in more theoretical background.

This is combined with experiences in medical information technology as a scientific field that deals with the storage, retrieval, sharing, and optimal use of biomedical information, data, and knowledge for problem solving and decision making. It touches on all basic and applied fields in biomedical science and is closely tied to modern information technologies, notably in the areas of computing and communication.

The scientific project at the Department of Epidemiology & International Health, University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in cooperation with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), United States Department of Health and Human Services, National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion, Division of Reproductive Health Atlanta, Georgia strengthen the idea to focus on reproductive health. As a board member of the German Registry for Assisted Reproduction experience in data management, dataset structure and analysis exists.

The two years further training in Gynecological Endocrinology and Reproductive Medicine offered practical experience in all modern techniques and treatments including contraceptive methods, hormone therapy and assisted reproduction. Scientific interest is demonstrated in listed publications.

In December 2002 I moved from Bonn to Munich to build up an IVF-unit at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University which is running successfully.
